Exploring the limits of electronic music
End of Art was created by Andrew Germanakis and Karl Demetriou back in 2015 upon the release of their track Dark Lebowski on soundcloud. Andrew Germanakis was a drummer and Karl a guitar player and pianist from their school years. Andrew was a member of the stoner - Black duo Path to ixtab that had released two albums over several years. After that he started learning to compose, mix, produce and play some Keyboards becoming familiar with electronica music. With End of Art they wanted to merge digital and analogue music to a New approach that combined the Best aspects from both worlds. Andrew started using ableton live as the main mixing and production software along with audacity. Karl was involved in the music writing on the tracks : Ship of midi, Memory lane, Cosmography feat. Ken, Pentatonic in Black fire, The present lightness of past destruction feat. Farrago, When I'm alone I am Jim Carrey and he was the main composer of Strange Attractor. After that he stopped being involved in the group and Alex Pappis came to contribute. As an electric guitar player he composed and performed the guitars in the tracks : Dinstinctive Changes in Distress, Artificial humanism, Kaleidoscopic Reflections, Etheral Dust, Stars Ascending and continues to be part of the creative process in several tracks that will be released in the future. Andrew being the nucleus of the this project has composed all the other tracks and mixed and produced all of them. The first album First Works was an amateur experimental approach to electronic music. The second album A map of scaled elements was something a bit more refined with every track being composed to a certain musical scale using mostly digital plugins and only one analogue synthesizer. Digilogue Dreams employed two analogue synths a lot of analogue tape and other effects, an analogue drum machine, several digital synths and a more professional approach to mixing and mastering. Finally the latest album and single Symphonica Electronica and Here It Comes employ an array of digital and analogue synths, effects and a more refined mastering process. With multiple melodies, extreme filtering technics and evolving musical patterns they have come to express the emerging musical identity of End of Art.
